As part of the transformation process, we must reassess our service offering to ensure that it meets the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux (MSSS) requirements while respecting the budget allocated to us.

We can assure you that most services will not be affected. We will even have an increase in the nursing presence on the units.

However, regretfully, we must divest ourselves from our massage therapy service. Ethel our massage therapist will continue to offer the service within our establishment but on a private basis. These costs cannot be absorbed within the budget envelope that the MSSS will grant us.

We are aware that this change will cause some inconvenience and we apologize for that.

We would also like to reassure our residents that April 1st is still maintained as the C.H.S.L.D.’s official start date for Château Westmount as a private-contracted institution.

As part of this transition, our nurses will begin fonctionnal autonomy assessments of our residents during the month of February. This evaluation called an ISO-SMAF is necessary to register our clients in the public system.

The CIUSSS reiterated today that even if a person does not meet the ISO-SMAF minimal quote to be accommodated in C.H.S.L.D., no resident will be moved to another resource.

We will keep you posted as soon as we have more details.
